CLINTON GLOBAL INIATIVE HONORED THE GASD

In the photo above, Professor Anna Tibaijuka, Executive Director of UN HABITAT, delivered a remark on behalf of President Bill Clinton, the founder of the Clinton Global Initiative.

The Global Alliance for Sustainable Development was recognized by Clinton Global Initiative for its extraordinary commitment and dedication to solve pressing challenges affecting African Countries. Through its innovative and effective approaches to making positive global change, the organization has proven that diverse sectors of society including philanthropic, public service, corporate and civil organizations can and must work successfully to implement and devise solutions that affect positive and lasting sustainable development.

In African countries, being free from poverty means the ability of the people to work and receive a sustainable living wage, the human right to healthy and sustainable environment, the human rights to live in adequate housing, the human right to be free from hunger, the human right to health care and medical attention in case of illness, the right to education and the right to participate in shaping decision and policies that affect African communities, this is the only way to sustainable development.
Magoti G Mnubi, Co-Director- Global Alliance for Sustainable Development
